The purpose of Exposition-Article is to reveal that despite the web of hyperconnectivity within which we all now live and actively participate, there still exist certain types of site-specificity.
As examples, images have been provided of gestures that, in theory, can be done anywhere but will by default be nuanced based on location, involved objects, and chaotic tendencies of material. This type of gesture might echo a fluxus sentiment, however it seems apposite to affix this sentiment to a new model that fits the language of contemporary digital culture.
The project will begin with a very versatile format. Trusting that those involved are highly intuitive and creative individuals, we welcome submissions of any medium that articulate the notion of site-specificity within “hypergeography.” From there, you may feel free to further engage in somewhat of a round-robin, exquisite-corpse interaction between other collaborators as a way to:
a. indicate differences or nuance of one “site” to another “site”
b. close a literal or metaphorical gap between “sites”
c. overlap a physical location with a virtual, or vise-versa
Hyperlinking is most certainly allowed. The project’s home-base for the time being is tumblr; however the aim is to not only expand to other virtual locations but to pronounce the interconnectivity of things. Ideas regarding expansion are welcomed, and encouraged as a part of the collaborative process.
